My cheapo anorak gave up the ghost at the V Festival so I'm looking to buy a new lightweight/waterproof/breathable jacket with hood. OH suggested North Face - bit pricey, would anyone recommend them?

Any suggestions much appreciated

I have a nice Musto one with a hood. I bought it in pale blue though, which was probably a bit stupid as it shows the dirt, but I believe they have other more practical colours.

I havent had any north face waterproofs, but i took a pair of their trousers when i went traveling around Australia and they were so comfy i lived in them! so deff a vote for the north face... though they are quiet preicey should be good quality and last!

I think it was a Peter Storm one I had - to be fair I had given it a bit of stick so it lasted well, just fancied something a bit smarter.

I will have a look at the Musto ones too.

Thanks!

I have the musto combination one, so it has a zip in waistcoat (which is so nice it could be worn on its own) as well. I bought it in pink, other colour is a minty green. It was reduced at the musto stand which tours the shows (got at rds) and was £80. Has a pommel flap to cover the front of the saddle and lovely generous vents at the back. Well worth the money IMO.
