I am looking for a pro to ride my horse for me at intermediate champs and also whilst I have some time off due to other circumstances. He is 9 rising 10 16.2 very very slight and competed up to advanced. Ideally I would like a sensitive lady/girl rider as he's a bit of a nervy boy and is happier with girls. Any ideas?? The cost of the training isn't an issue.
 
Somewhat random but what was the name of the female rider who came off at the centaurs leap at Burghley? I thought she was doing a fantastic job until then but she won me over by immediately leaping to her feet and looking for her horse... obviously worried sick. Ignoring peoples attempts at checking her till she could see her horse was OK. Just made a big impression of someone who really did care.

If I was looking, I would look at area but would perhaps look back at previous Intermediate and champ results, see who consistently has done well at that level. Might be someone knocking on the door of moving up.
 
Kitty King has a superb record and is excellent with small, sensitive horses. If looking for a YR type what about Laura Shears?
 
Does it need to be a big name rider?

A friend of mine is Head Girl at an international 4* yard and is taking up more a stable jockey role this year with the aim of getting rides (has previously competed to 2* with a horse she produced herself).

I know she is obviously a good friend of mine, but she is absolutely amazing. Has the patience of a saint and always gets given the horses with behavioural issues, turning them all around very quickly!

Therefore, fees might be slightly cheaper.

Who do you train with? They may also teach other riders and know who might be good and who your horse wouldn't suit.

I think with a horse Q for Int Champs you will have riders biting your hand off to ride him, so be picky and let a few ride him first to see how they gel.

Jo May (4* rider) is lovely & isn't a large yard so real individual attention from her. Based nr Wedmore Somerset
 
Ros Canter? Still a fairly small yard but great facilities, shes produced 2 up to Advanced in the last year...
Emily Parker could be a could bet.
Becky Crosbie Starling is great but might be a bit tall for you?
 
The nice thing about Ros's yard is that the horses live a natural life style. They go out every day, even now they are turned out for a few hours every day. Our horse was very sharp but now is so laid back.

You are kidding, right? Great, capable, strong, determined, competitive jockey but sensitive and sympathetic???

Agree re Kitty, also like the Ros suggestion, Vicky T has done brilliantly on "catch" rides and prioritises bonding with her horses... You have lots of good suggestions here OP, it does depend a bit on where in the country you are etc.
