Hi all i have a TB who is built like a giraffe! He measures for a 6'6 rug and these fit well length and depth but he has a huge shoulder and coupled with typical high whithers i am struggling to find a rug that doesn't rub on his withers!
I need a fly rug and also need New winter turn outs. Both need a neck piece i have no preference for combo or detached neck.

I too have a 16.2 TB with massive withers and chunky shoulders, and he needs 6'6 rugs. I've tried many different makes of fly, turnout and stable rugs and the only rugs that fit him comfortably around the shoulder and wither area is Horseware Ireland Rambo/Rhino and also the cheaper (but still great quality) Amigo range of rugs. With these I don't even have to use his Bossy bibs. They never rub his shoulder's hair off and they sit roomy and comfy around the withers. Try one of these rugs and I'm sure you won't be dissapointed!

Thanks. I have the amigo in a lw but i buy a 6'9 to allow for his shoulder and there seem to fit. His other rugs would all be ok but he insists on putting head down when eating! So they pull then.
Thanks for input i will have a try with both brands and keep my fingers crossed!

Weatherbeeta.

They are nice and deep, and have buckles on the chest to adjust the fit. I have the top strap a bit longer than the bottom, so that when Star's head goes down to eat, nothing pulls.

Thank for that tip janette. I usually do both same length or top tighter. Do you have detached necks or combo? Is one better than other for these type of horses? Im wondering if a detached will rub more as more pressure over withers where they link

The Horseware range of rugs IMO are the best out there. ( Rambo and Amigo) Probably the most expensive rugs out there but they definitely fit and wear well. I have a turnout that is about 10 years old and still as good as new. They do recommend that in the turnout range you go up a size. See if you can borrow one from somewhere and try it on for fit.

I've got premier equine, amigo and weatherbeeta for mine. PE and Amigos are fine (amigo I order a size up) but the weatherbeeta is an absolutely perfect fit (also ordered a size up). Cheapest by a mile and just seems to suit her shape.
