As title really, have recently bought a new horse for my daughter, she is a 15.2, mainly TB with a very delicate, thin skin. I am struggling finding a light weight NZ which doesn't rub her shoulders. Have used a 'vest' with the rug, but that seems to make her get flakey skin in her 'armpits'!

Any suggestions gratefully received, thanks!

I would usually be a weatherbeeta girl too, and her lightweight stable rug is fine, as is the middleweight NZ, but the lw just doesn't sit as I would like. I do have a masta one too, it is a fraction too short but perhaps I should try that again - and hope it doesn't rain as it isn't terribly waterproof.

I wondered about a Horseware, do they have the slightly different front? It's just such an expensive exercise finding a rug that fits!

So far weatherbeeta seems to be the only ones that fit my mostly tb youngsters narrow little chest. His stable rug is perfect and he has a full neck lw. I struggled to find a standard neck lw turnout to fit but so far this is doing the job.

I have a youngster that is narrow across the chest and the only rugs that fit him well are Rambo, Amigo and Rhino...typically the more expensive makes!!!!
Good thing about getting one of the above brands is if you have to sell a rug they hold their price on sites like Ebay!!!
I found that Masta, Weatherbeeta's and Mark Todd are too big around the chest and the Masta's aren't deep enough?!!?
Anyway, I think it's trial and error so see if you can try on someone elses or see if your saddlery accepts returns in case they don't fit.

oh actually..... my boy who is welshD x tb has the amigo l/w and i had to get the bigger size as it was tight round the front so this would probably be a good option for you
