I have some good quality rugs that I was going to put on eBay but wondered if a charity may make use of them instead.

I would prefer to give to a small charity that would really appreciate the rugs so if you know of one please let me know.

That's a great idea, but ideally you will I assume need to find a charity local to you otherwise the postage will be expensive!

Whereabouts are you? :)

Good post , yes I would like to donate but it seems a lot of charitys are a gold plated gravy train with fancy premises, directors salarys and huge overheads....

If you are in the north west can I suggest Shy Lowen? In Netherton just off the Liverpool end of the M57/M58 (switch island junction.)

I'm happy to post them anywhere but as it will be quite expensive I would like to make sure it's actually worth it and they will be made good use of.

You need to ring and ask the charity if they need them first, but suggestions:

Hopefield Animal Sanctuary - Brentwood Essex,
Bramsby Home of Rest
Redwings

Redwings have just announced they are full to capacity now, so I expect they would welcome rug donations.
