Having drowned my IPhone last week (fell out of pocket into trough) and this morning jammed my Blackberry into my pocket straight onto the point of a hoofpick & wrecked the screen and several vital bits beyond I am in need of yet another phone!
In an ideal world I'd like an android phone so that I can download apps (most of which I'll never use), I want one that I can text on whilst riding (and occasionally whilst driving, naughty but sometimes essential) so either touch screen or with decent buttons (Blackberry buttons are a bit hit and miss) - maybe one of those slide out qwerty keyboards but definitely had enough of a stylus.
I want web access as I'm away a lot at stay away events and need to be able to get my emails etc. and browse when bored.
A good camera would be a bonus - preferably easy to use so that the moment hasn't passed before I've figured out which button to press.
I've gone through loads of the comparison websites but first hand feedback from people in the same situation can't be beaten!
If anyone has a good monthly contract with inclusive mins, texts and web then I'd be really interested to hear about those too as it's a bit of a minefield! Thank you!!:)

This technophobic numpty has just got a Samsung Wave and finding it surprisingly undaunting. Got mine through vodaphone, think it's £30 per month, 600mins, free txt/internet

If you can scrounge up an old nokia 32 10 I reccomend them without reservation. Yet they are as big as a brick and no they won't make your dinner or dance. However they do great as phones to talk/text (which is all I want from a phone) and mine survived 5 years of water buckets, muckheaps, dropping, being stood on....

Just realised you want internet ect so perhaps not, but what I said about durability still stands. I would love one as a backup phone for if my current one dies.

You can get clear, waterproof rubber sleeves for phones. My OH has one when he's sailing. you buy them from outdoor sports/camping type shops, and you can use the phone with it on. It's a bit like a condom. LOL :D

Hi

Otterbox make a really good case called a defender for the iPhone. We use them in commercial diving. It's great around the horses too.
Google it, they are fab.

I have a Sumsung B2700 which although is not pretty has proven to be quite indestructible - my other half got fed up with me breaking phones in horse related incidents! Has quite a lot of functionality and a decent camera so gets my vote! It's got an integral rubber/plastic coating and is supposed to be anti-dust/knocks/drops/water and so far it's worked.
