Hi all

I apologise if this is posted in the wrong forum. I am at university in Oxford and my 19 yo pony has for the past few years lived with my family in New Forest. Unfortunately, they really don't have the time to keep him exercised and happy - I haven't vast amounts of superfluous leisure either, but in sheer desperation I began exploring possibilities of bringing Monde to Oxford with me.

Does anyone know of any sensible yards in or around Oxford? I can't drive but relies on public transport, bicycle or legs. Definitely prefer the latter. ;-)

Or, alternatively, any children or small adults in the Ringwood area of New Forest who lack a 14.1hh horse to cuddle and ride?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, i'm at university in Oxford (Brookes, not THE Oxford) as well, and i'd recommend searching for yards around Weatley, or Kiddlington areas, and the bus links are quite good and their seem to be lots of horses around there. It also might be worth searching for facebook pages of equestrian groups of both the Oxford universities, and posting to ask the other students who keep their horses in Oxford.
I will do some asking around too..and i'll just add that if you move your pony to Oxford and would like some help, PM me because i'm looking to help someone out in exchange for riding!
Good luck.

I'm at livery in Kidlington but the bus links to our place are not great - my sister lives in Oxford and can never get to the yard - I always end up having to go and pick her up!

You could try these though:

There are also yards in Horspath, and Marston, close-ish to centre of town, they don't have website but I can get phone nos for you if you want.

This one is a riding school, but the closest to the city centre and on a good bus route, not sure if they do livery though:

There isn't really anything close to the city centre that is well connected to public transport though.

Good luck x
