I keep wondering about getting long boots - but whenever I look I have problems finding boots to fit my feet / legs (and that dont look hideous). Up to now I've ended up wearing jod boots and gaiters which look fine, but having a birthday coming up I'm wondering about another search.

I have short, wide feet, high insteps, and short skinny legs. I want boots I can wear for BE90. I think the feet are the major issue as I think a cobbler could take in the calves if needed. Foot comfort is a priority.

Pls can anyone recommend me anything. Equitector are no good, too narrow feet. I looked in Derby House a couple of months ago and there was nothing suitable.

Also any ball park figures on made to measure (and recommendations?)

thanks for reading

You have a mjor problem with long boots getting the thin leg but with enough room to get your foot in. Worth trying Equitector who make to measure and not too dear - probably under £300 - they are at loads of the shows - http://www.equitector.com/

Other boots that do good variations are the Mountain Horse range - but do go somewhere and try them on as fit can be a real issue with them.

Finally the Mark Todd range come with options http://www.countrysmiths.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=Mark-Todd-Long-Leather-Riding-Boot at under £100 and Just Toggs at about £120 http://www.countrysmiths.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=Just-Togs-Kingston-Riding-Boots
