I'm confused by all the different types of boxes available s could do with some recommendations please....
Needs to be able to carry two ponies combined weight approx 850kg
Also has to be good for a relatively nervous driver

Dont need any fancy bits, just has to be safe. Will only be used for local ish journeys. Ponies have always travelled facing forwards as far as I'm aware.

I'll only be able to afford an older type, not bothered about looks. Any suggestions?

I like the Renault master types but they were out of my budget but this site is good for older ones http://www.traveltwohorseboxes.com/

I wasn't keen on the transit types as they felt quite unstable and had a steep ramp and mine prefers not to face forwards.

I've got an old (L reg) Leyland which is easy to drive, lower ramp than a transit and was only £1800, travels 2 small ponies or 1 cob herringbone.

I also like the VW LT35's, they can be quite heavy so have to check payload carefully. Avoid living!
