Recommend me a bridle?

Hi, I'm looking for a new bridle for my lad and wondered if anyone could recommend me one to suit a TB?
The bridle he came with is fairly shabby and doesn't really suit him and I have some spare cash atm so would like to get him a new one.
Having only bought bridles for chunkier types before I'm unsure what would look best.

Any ideas?

I'm happy to pay about £100, maybe more if it's really lovely!

I have a jeffries elite with a falcon flash noseband ( the one that comes with it is a crank and I don't like them) I love this bridle the headpiece is buttery soft I have used mine every day for well over a year and it looks really good. (excuse angry face)

Jeffries leather is very high quality I would really recomend. Had a sabre coborra for old horse and much prefer this bridle. Think they retail around £120 but my saddler swapped the noseband for me so worked out slightly cheaper...I think
 
Something quite classic like a Jeffries? You can put the component parts together for a custom fit and that will be nice and expensive too! (LOL) He is such a handsome boy, he will look good in anything. Think Havana would be nice on him, but depends on your saddle shade. HTH!
 
Ooh, interesting you've both mentioned the jeffries - off to work shortly but will definitely have a nosey at their site later!

Caismum - saddle is brown so will prob be looking at havana thanks. I get so easily confused by all the different names for brown that various makes seem to have though! I'd love to go somewhere and just have a look and feel at lots of different makes but unfortunately there isn't anywhere near me that stocks more than 1 or 2 brands. It's great to have somewhere like this to get peoples opinions!
 
Stubben 3000, a little finer than most of the chunky bridles you find ont he market today and make the hot bloods head look great!

He has a beautifully-propotioned head so you have the choice for whatever you like. I bet you are thrilled with him!

My (Appy) mare is crying out for a custom bridle but I don't have the cash - she has a tiny pint pot nose, quite broad across the forehead and then no distance at all down the sides of her head. She has a cob size bridle but the noseband is too big and the cheekpieces are too, really. But I can't face riding someting in a pony bridle when I'm five foot nine!
 
Thanks for the suggestion - lovely bridle but only seems to be available with a flash. It seems so difficult to find a plain cavesson these days - everything is either a flash or a crank!

She sounds like my sisters sec c - small head length wise and little nose but she has a huge forehead and cheek. We had to buy her a separate cob size browband and her throatlatch has had an extra hole put in!

It's nice that you can mix and match a bit with the jeffries. Am liking the look of the excellence bridle with padded browband and noseband. Very smart!

Have also spotted a nice mark todd one which looks fairly similar but is £40 cheaper (always nice!) Anyone know what the leather quality is like with these??
 
michael marren hand made bridles are ace about £90 with reins loads to choose from and such lovely quality. hes based at southview arena but goes to loads of shows.
 
I only really know the Mark Todd leather boots and saddles, but the overall quality has always been good, so a bridle may be well worth a look. I am also a flash-hater, I'm blessed with a horse who keeps her gob shut and I hate the little tab you're always left with if you take the flash strap off. There are bridle makes where the tab can be removed too - though only Butet and Devoucoux spring to mind right now. If you DID want to splash out, both are gorgeous quality, beautiful stitching and colour, shaped round the horse's ears. They come in at £180 but should last a lifetime. Would need to, really!
 
Thanks for all the ideas - some lovely bridles. Hard part now is going to be picking one.

Have also just found some brand new sabre reins hanging in tack room so may have to have a look at their bridles too. I'm ridiculously paranoid about colours matching properly so it would be nice to not have to buy another set to match!

Caismum - both gorgeous but probably a little over budget! I was having a drool over an amerigo one the other day but they're similarly expensive unfortunately!

Albion KB comfort - here is Ollie in his - he is a 16.1h light type of Selle Francais so not to dissimilar to a TB and I was worried the noseband would be too chunky on him but I think it looks nice

Would NOT recommend a Mark Todd bridle AT ALL

I got a brand new one for Bob at the end of October last year, went to dressage on Saturday, he turned his head away (gently) as I was doing up the flash strap and the tab broke

I have always had Stubben before and this has never ever happened... no idea if it was just a dodgy one, but I wont be buying another to find out

What Kerilli said about Sabre bridles. I have one that I got when I got my boy 11 years ago. It is used day in day out and still scrubs up a treat for shows! Which is pretty impressive considering how I'm not known for how I care for my tack

Mine is a plain cavesson, you will find with Sabre that you can mix and match pieces.

If you like the comfort headpieces I've just bought a Frank Baines for £60 I'm really impressed with the quality of this as well.
