Recommend me a dog insurance company please!

Ive got my cat with Healthy Pets. They are very reasonable priced (alot cheaper than pet plan). Touch wood I have not needed to use their services yet so i can't comment on how good they are if you need to claim but my friend who is a vet nurse reccommended them to me because vets like them as they are very esay to deal with if a claim is made. Hope that helps :)

Healthy pets are good but are now getting very expensive. my renewal has more than doubled. They are good but beware when your pet gets older as they put prices up and if you have a older pet with problems you will find you cant find another company to take them on so you are trapped.

Pet Plan are good but expensive - we're with Direct Line - not claimed yet (phew!) - but they're generally good according to the admin side at N's work

Have you tried the supermarket policies? Or Marks and Spencer?

It is underwritten by RSA by the looks of it so is a reputable company. I have no idea how it compares cost wise though.

We're with M&S and have found them very good. They do life cover which is good as Bes broke her leg so it's still insured. I think their's is £7k cover if you go for the higher level which we did. It's not cheap but the two claims we've made were easy, including emergency vets costs and follow up xrays and appointments. One dog is £21 a month and the other is £24. I like their helpline too.

I am insured with buddies, and they have been fantastic. I very sensibly got my springer pup insured with them and in 2 and a half years have had to claim £2000 + in vets bills, they have never quibbled and I always get the cheque within a month. I would have been stuffed with out them! They also do a max claim per illness so it doesn't exclude illnesses after you have made a claim, only if you go above the total which for my silver cover is £3000 per condition. I can't fault them so far!
