I'd really like to get a dressage saddle for my mare when she comes back into work after her foal is weaned. I'm in Aberdeenshire and know of 1 reputable saddler who does Black Country and WOW saddles but I wanted recommendations from you guys. I like the look of the Prestige saddles and also Albions. Plus does anyone else in Scotland have any good saddlers they could recommend?

Thanks!:D

To be honest, what fits her now, may not fit her in 6 months time.
I would be going for something thats adjustable, or something 2nd hand that you can change when the time comes.

I think Albions are a safe bet, as are the Derby House Kentucky & the Ideal Range.
However you really do need to sit on them yourself as what suits one rider may not suit another.

Saddles Direct have a good range of saddles and they will post you a couple to try.

We've had experience of Albions, Derby House (very good), Sue Carson (great for adjusting, but google for feedback on this forum - ours was ok though and is now with a para rider). Mum's now in a Paul Fielder, not cheap and made to measure for horse and rider.

I love Albion. I picked up mine second hand from Stirlingshire saddlery. Whilst a couple friends tried mine first for size then they went shopping on ebay which was a lot cheaper!!

Just remember to check the saddle for you as well as your horse as I tried a multitude before settling on the Albion.

mine is made by andrew sankey - he's based in scotland and does made to measure and to your own spec for the same cost as a new black country ;)
drop me a pm if you want more details about him or if you have any queries - as a saddler i really rate him and his work and i like the felxibility of made to measure as you can get all the little bits you want from different makes in one saddle :)

Back and shouldar conformation is important as it can restrict the brand of saddle you can have,

I have an ideal suzannah it's very comfortable and my boy loves it too! :)
