So I'm getting closer and closer to finding my next dog, met a lovely grey on Friday, but wasn't convinced he'd be as safe with the cat as I would like, so decided not to pursue and am off to meet two lurchers that may be suitable at GRWE on Tuesday, maybe even bring one home! (I'm stupidly excited!) what foods would you experts recommend? (I want to go down the complete dry food option ideally, Millie my jrt is on Arden grange 'mini') what's good? Anything I should avoid for this type of dog? Ideally looking for something economical too! I will ideally be looking for lowish protein levels.

Try Skinners - Carey had her 3 on it (can't remember what her new name is as she changes it all the time :p) a big sack of 15kgs costs approx 20 quid. Is hypoallergenic, gluten free etc and they look really well on it. It is also classed as a working dog food so is VAT free:)

My boy Throp is on fish4dogs salmon & potato as he has a bit of a sensitive tum and we get soft poops & stinky wind to endure when something in the kibble's not right for him. Its 26% protein, but its had no effect on energy levels and i feed less than lower % kibble so presume it balances out. I get it from VetUK as its about £14 cheaper than direct, it comes in a 12kg bag but lasts about same as 15kg of the skinners .

My other dog was on Skinners F&T salmon & rice and he looked good condition with a shiny coat, its a reasonable price compared with similar feeds too.
