I'm going to be near Newport for the first 2 weeks of December on a training course, and I won't have any horses to do or any social life. I am not used to having any spare time so having fun thinking of what to do with it!
I have been wanting to have some proper lessons for a while, the kind that are a real treat on dressage / sj schoolmasters, so thought it would be a good opportunity, and would help me get my horse fix while I'm away. So does anyone have any suggestions of places I could try?
I will be in TF10.

Alternatively anyone in the South East which is where I normally live.

Thank you :)

Not sure if she has any schoolmasters that you can ride Scatty but Emma Bailey is a very good instructor. Her details should be on Heather Moffetts site Enlightened Equitation.

I was at uni in Newport and as captain of our equestrian team have tried a lot of the local places!!

Kingswood (Albrighton-about 20 mins from Newport) is v nice, as is Prescott in Baschurch- both hold regular affiliated comps there too so have v good facilities.

Another place we used is Freshfields in Market Drayton (again, not far) this is also a Haflinger stud. They have some sweet horses/ponies there too- especially Fearghal, I fell in love with him A 16.2 ID X TB, think he would be about 6 now- If I could have bought him I would have snapped their hand off!!

You're lucky- wish I could rewind a few years and go back to Newport, uni, my ex and my best friends!!!...take me with you!!!!

Di Breeze still does the odd clinic but has moved to Dubai.

Kingswood have closed down the riding school side of things - still hold excellent competitions though!

Prescott EC is your best bet, they have a couple of lovely dressage schoolmasters.

A bit further away but Leoni Smith at Daneswood dressage has a great dressage schoolmaster as well.
