Just wondered if any of you had any recommendations for riding schools in North London/Herts areas that aren't LEC or Trent Park EC

Thanks alot!

Would North East work for you? Julia Doskar at Lee Vally Riding School is excellent. They're pretty easy to get to as there are a couple of buses that go direct from the City and they're walking distance from Clapton Station. They do early mornings, evenings and weekends to which is helpful. They've got some nice quality horses.

What about Rose Hall in Sarratt or South Medburn over towards Elstree. No personal experience of either but heard good things.

There is also King's Oaks in Enfield, Littlebourne farm in Middlesex and Grove farm in Stanmore.

Also heard a little rumour recently that Patchetts is going to start doing riding lessons again now Strangeways has closed down but that could be just horsey gossip.

Didn't know Strangeways had closed down !! Just round the corner from me. Is it still going as a livery yard?

Hooks Cross outside of Stevenage is very nice or the best riding school is Chibley farm at Shillington(near Hitchin/Henlow) Trina Lewis team are excellent. Contessa if you like going round in circles.

My instructor also freelances at Littlebourne you can get there on the bus and they have a very active riding club with competitions and social events where you can compete on the school horses as well as pub rides etc.
