Hi All!!

Myself and OH are planning to take a few days off soon from work. We may go away but not sure yet.
Anyway, I quite fancied giving Western Riding a go, and I know OH would love to (he is more your jeans and chaps rider than jodhpurs and long boots rider!!)

We are in Essex, but don't mind travelling around the outside of Essex (cambs, suffolk etc)
Anyone recommend a good riding school that offers western lessons, using their horses? Would like the chance to have lessons and then maybe go out for a hack.

I am an experienced English rider (never ridden western though!!) and OH has done the odd trek abroad, but thats about it. He is not a nervous rider by any means though - He often tells me he'll show me hows its done when I get my own horse!!! :D

Thanks peeps!! xx

Been to a taster day at Soveriegn Quarter Horses (nr Peterborough).

Not sure if they do hacking, but they have great horses to learn on and are friendly.

Valley Farm in Suffolk have quite a few Western trained horses and are very nice. Got my then OH cantering (loping) and trying a baby barrel race on his first Western lesson! They also have rides around the farm so no roads necessary.
