My otherwise superb cat is very prone to gingivitis and has already had two operations to remove teeth. Today he had his check up and HURRAH he doesn't need any surgery this time. However the vet recommended that I cut wet food out of his diet completely. Normally he (cat not vet) gets some lovely wet food at 10pm and is locked in for the night (in the whole house, not in a run or anything). I'd like to replace that 10pm treat with something particularly tasty but dry so he still wants to come in and eat it. Any suggestions? His other food is Royal Canin dental so it needs to be something nicer than that!

Mine turns her nose up at the nice high quality food I bought her, I got a selection of the fancy dry foods, however her favourite is the cheap duck and something go cat

The elderly cat included in the purchase of my farm likes GoCat Crunchy and Tender and Whiskas Tasty Pockets preferably mixed together. His teeth and waistline are much improved since transitioning from wet food.

My lot are a fussy crew; I've given up on giving them wet food as they just eat one mouthful of it and then decide it isn't good enough for Their Ladyships. This is after you've just bought a tray of 6 tins........ dang things.

I would get lots of smaller bags of brand names (go for cheap!) and rotate what you are giving them regularly.

I work on the principle that if they are really hungry, they will eat what is offered i.e. two choices, eat it or go without; tho' I suspect that I do have one cat who goes across the fields to the neighbouring farm if Her Ladyship doesn't fancy the goods on offer here.

Blimmin' cats!

My erstwhile farm cat now morphed into pampered couch potato just licks the jelly or gravy off wet food and still I buy it for him. What a mug.

Thanks, many treats tried now and not a single one acceptable. I have reduced the quantity of wet feed he gets though and fingers crossed that seems to have improved his teeth, I think because he eats it in one go rather than snacking all night and clarting them up each time.
