A CAR or very cheap 4x4 suitable for towing please?

Will be an ifor trailer (505) and mostly one horse occasionally - once or twice a year be two.

I know what I *think* is best - just open to other recommenations or if the one I am thinking of really is best!!

* Please no 'you cant tow with a car safely etc etc' becasue I know that you CAN!!!

Thank you!

I used to tow with an isuzu trooper, sadly someone crashed into me and it was written off, so I went on the lookout for a replacement. I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is constant 4WD, it has a powerful 2.8 mercedes engine and can tow up to 3.5 ton. They are relatively cheap to buy, plenty of older one's around, they are not cheap on fuel, but not many big cars are... I don't have a long journey to work, so its not a problem for me.

depends what your budget is.
a diesel hyundai santa fe is very economical for a 4x4 and tows very well. you would only want to tow one big horse with it though. two small ponys would be ok. the bigger you get the more thirsty it gets. i drive an l200 animal ocasionaly and i can use upto £50 in fuel just over 3 days! and that not towing either, just normal driving.
