Evening all!

Now, just before I toddle off to bed, thought I would ask for some recommendations for some all-round yard boots.

I have wide feet, if that helps, and am a size 6. Price isnt too important, but I am a poor student after all, so nothing made of gold!

Just want something that'll stand up to mud and ****, keep my feet warm when its cold, not give me any blisters (!) and help me preserve my poor joddie boots, which are dying quickly.

TIA everyone, please do have some custard creams and a glass of cow juice before you go to bed, from me :D xx

Muckboots if you don't have a lot of deep snow that is going to fall down them, Tynes if you do, and of course Tynes are OK for riding in too. Dublin Rivers and Dubarry's do the same job but are slightly more pricey.

I have all of them, actually I prefer the Tynes for warmth, and contrary to some reports I don't find mine any more slippery on snow and ice than anything else that don't have studs in.

I have a pair of Robinsons Puddle Boots. They're really warm - they're fluffy lined, and are waterproof. They were £20 i think. You need to order a size bigger than normal as the sizes come up small. I had to order a size 8 (i'm a smallish 7) for my big feet :P

Thelwell_Girl - I use the MuckBoots but their Gardening ones which are short - fantastic, warm, comfy, I love them. I usually take a 6-6.5 and have fairly wide feet, but get their size 5 - can recommend Woolsthorpe Wellies as a supplier www.woolsthorpewellies.co.uk

If you are thinking of buying the MuckBoots Tyne (long boots suitable for riding) I have a pair in size 6 which I am selling - they are in practically new condition, but I don't find them comfy because I have very chubby calfs and so they don't fit my legs properly. PM me if you're interested.

I swear by either Tyne Muckboots (although, I find I can't wear them for more than 8 hours or they start rubbing) or Hunter's - which fit me perfectly as I have long, thin feet and legs and despite them no longer being made in the U.K, I've had no problems with my 'new' Hunters and working with horses and having my own, they get worn pretty often and for long periods of time.

Short boot wise - I have a pair of Mountain Horse boots, which were about £150 but are very comfortable and certainly stand up to the dirt, mud and general abuse they get!

I'll second the woof wear boots - I lived in mine last winter ;) all through the snow and following mud. My feet stayed toasty warm and pretty dry. Also rode in them! They also were about the only ones under £200 that fitted my fatty calves......

i have drby house winter boots thier a bit like the woof wear ones but cheaper too wide for my little feet so probs fit you well im a 5.5 and wear a 6 they have plenty of room for socks etc :) and they are really warm and fleecey inside even in knee high snow :)

I love my muckers, they are comfy and warm, they can rub a bit if i wear them all day out walking but thats cos they're a size 4 and I am only a size 3!!!

Got them at Bramham horse trials earlier this year for £15 so you can find a good bargain if you look - they were about £50 elsewhere so grabbed the bargain when I could!!!

I wore wellies last year and no matter how many pairs of socks I wore, I always got cold feet after a few hours but not now - I cant wait for snow and ice this winter just so I can show off my toasty warm feet lol

What with them and my Rambo chaps, I am out in all weathers and it doesnt bother me in the least :D

Muckboots are fab or these which I have had since the begining of last winter - wore them every day to turn out/muck out/walk the dogs etc etc and they kept my feet warm (fleecey lining( and dry through all of it - as I didn't kill them i will be wearing them again this winter.
