Recommendation For Saddle

Hi, I'm 5ft4 and I ride a 14hh Welsh C. I find that when I shorten up to jump my knee comes over the saddle and I end up sitting on the cantle on landing. I know it's not just me because my 5ft1 mum has trouble jumping 2ft in it!

My saddle fitter came out with some lovely close contact jumping saddles, but unfortunatly they were about £1,200 and he would only give us £300 for the saddle we have now, and with my dog recently having an operation for £800 we're not prepared to spend any more than £300.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a saddle that would suit us, or should I just keep an eye on ebay. Oh yes, he's a 17", not sure on the width.

Thanks if you can help

It's a 17" GFS GP The buckle gaurds say it's a Pro Event Saddle, but the number on it doesn't match the number on the saddle so I'm not too sure.

It might be a bit late but frogpool manor have a sale on at the mo and I picked up an Ideal event saddle and a Middleton meadowcreek for under £800 for the pair might be worth giving them a bell as I don't think they have their sale saddles on their website

i had the very same problems trying to jump in a gfs vsd!.
just bought the most amazing saddle, patriot made by stirlingshire saddlery. it's awesome and although it is most defo a jumping saddle, I hack and and school in it and it's most comfy. finding my horse is going great, not sure if it's more comfy for him, or if Im riding better with a more secure seat, maybe a bit of both.
it's quite costly new, but I was lucky enought to find a used one for roughly your budget.
