Hello, I am looking for suggestions for a new bit for Poppy, thin loose ring french link snaffle. She is a welsh cob x trad cob, with a biggish tongue hence the thinnner bit thought. She is resisting the D Ring snaffle I currently ride her in, so it has been suggested I try a loose ring..

Thank you!

No harm in trying! Can you borrow one to see if it makes a difference? I would suggest you try a sweet iron with a copper link, it will encourage mouthing and the ones with a peanut or lozenge shaped link are more comfortable. The ones with a shaped mouthpiece will give more tongue room and I think Jeffries have recently bought out a range of curved mouth bits which look similar to the popular Neuschule bits but at about a third of the price!
