I am going for third time lucky & have put a deposit down on a horse subject to vetting. The first 2 were local to me so I was able to use vets I knew & trusted but this horse is about 2 hours away so although I've googled equine vets in the area some personal recommendations would be really helpful please.
Seller uses 608 and Corner House, is it still recommended you use a different vet to the one the seller does? (This horse hasn't been seen by them but other horses she's had have) It's for a 2 stage & bloods if it makes any difference.

Thankyou

I was going to suggest Corner House but have just seen she already uses them! They are a good vets tho if you can't find an independent one. Always been better than 608 in my experience anyway.

If Steve from 608 will come out then yes use them (he only does cattle really now but he did our horses for year, wouldnt let ANYONE else from 608 near then.

Ben sweeney is v good but not sure if he's moved to Liverpool yet.

MacArthur Barstow and Gibbs. Ask for Mrs Gibbs to do the vetting. The large animal surgery is based in Droitwich and they cover a vast area. Mrs Gibbs has ridden all her life and is highly respected in the racing and competitive horse world.

She has looked after my horses for decades.

Barstow and Gibbs, any of the girls are good horse vets ( not saying the blokes are not but we normally get the girls!) I am sure they do redditch, Ann ( mrs Gibbs) is excellent! They do zone days! Otherwise Solihull way?

Perfect, thanks all. Think we'll look at mcarthur barstow and gibbs. Just need to wait for them to open so we can give them a call and see if they can come out. Fingers crossed im luckier this time round.

Make sure you ask for Anne. She will give the professional vetting plus the 'horseman' aspect. In knowledge and experience terms she is far more than just a clinician.

Each to their own. It was Matt from 608 that dealt with Rodney's surgical colic, I genuinely couldn't fault him that day.

McArthur are good, and they should cover Redditch. Clent Hills may be worth a try if not.

Matt was desperate to shoot Ginger, who after box rest was absolutely fine. That was several years ago, but I'd never trust them again.
