Recommendations for dual ended elasticated girth

Can anyone recommend me a decent girth that has elastic on both ends please? Currently using a 48" Wembley atherstone on a cob with a showing saddle, but it pulls to one side as only has elastic on one end. We use a Dever one on my daughter's show saddle which seems ok - but would be interested in any recommendations.

Leather or not?

I’ve used aerborn atherstones and the Harry dabbs waffle which has triple elastic iirc.
Also use a pro choice ventech (there are cheaper versions like bridleway) which won’t slip but not smart enough for showing.

I’m no good for leather options unless also anatomical mostly as leather always rubbed mine.
 
Thanks all! It was mostly for everyday use, so was looking at the waffle type ones but could be worth looking at a non elasticated leather one for the show ring.

I love these, always use one with one of my horses and a Wintec shaped waffle with the other( treeless)
I couldn't believe that the Flexigirth actually did what they said it did so I never have to have it tight and the horse loves it. I tried a Harry Dabbs to see if he would like that but he was clearly not having any of it!
 
\Girths are complicated and very personal as to what works...

I don't agree because it depends, there is nothing wrong with the design, though I much prefer the centre section to be wide and padded as that is what gives the grip and contact, 1-1.5" wide strip isn't enough. Lots of kit can be misused.

I actually find the design an issue, the padding sits up and behind the elastic and can catch the numnah and wrinkle very easily. There are several others with the same design.

Aerborn elastic can be a bit stretchy, the Dabbs synthetic is the only one I recommend as a matter of course, it's a good girth but has sprung tongues in the buckles which drive me mad when adjusting a girth from the ground as I always do!

Depends on how the saddle is fitted, our saddles 95% of the time work best with elastic at both ends, to the extent that we have some customers can mount from the ground (not recommended, only where they have to on hacks) with elastic but the saddle spins without.

I would stick to roughly similar types, it's likely you'll find a better with with one or the other.

Interestingly I've never found them better than the other girths I recommend.

There are a few good leather Atherstones out there, good strong elastic and wide shaped centre panel, they need to be well stitched at either end, examine how much stitching there is on the cheaper ones and put your safety first, I had to show a customer once, shed bought it from ebay, and she sent it back.

I also recommend the Stubben Trevira cord girth which almost sits in the middle of elasticated and non-elasticated. It can wrinkle if your horse has a narrow, deep, forwards girth groove.
 
Definitely agree with stretchiness re the aerborn and it does have an annoying flap that can get caught at the saddle flap and ruck up, the flap on the HD is much smaller so less an issue.
 
I've just switched from a Harry Dabbs waffle to a Dever, and the saddle immediately started slipping when I mounted. I'll be going back to the Harry Dabbs tonight and see if that fixes it.
 
I use Dever dual elastic ended ones for everyday use. They do need checking as a while down the line you can get cracking on the edges, so they need chucking out as can pinch. Fine if you keep on top of checking them.
Going out posh, then usually atherstone leather with dual elastic.
 
I use a Hy Equestrian waffle girth (though mine is a dressage version). Fab quality considering the price, and still looks like new after 4 years of regular use.
 
The long Hy girths have the padding that can really wrinkle behind the buckles, IIRC. Elico and various others, they're all essentially the same design, if different materials.
