I usually have Dublin breeches for every day but am not keen on their newer styles. I've got some older pairs which are fab but the newer ones are more of a hipster style which I think are far less flattering and are a pain when riding because they don't stay up properly. I'm not averse to hipsters in normal circumstances (I'm not a high waisted jeans kinda gal!) but I find hipster breeches fall down.

So... I'm looking for recommendations for every day breeches which aren't hipster style and have a full seat. Something like the older style Dublins would be perfect (ie, higher than a hipster!). I don't want to pay a fortune so looking at Dublin price range really - I have no intention of paying £100 for breeches that I'm going to muck out in! ;-)

Thank you :D

I have black Caldene Morningtons which have full seat & I love & just bought the blue/black Anastasia plaid from Mountain horse. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

Yes, can second the Mark Todd breeches, however in the local tackshop I did try on a pair (having already got one pair but wanted a spare pair) and one leg was tighter round the knee than the other!! I couldn't believe it, and took out the tape measure to make sure, and sure enough, there was an inch difference! The tack shop wouldn't believe it until I took out the tape measure.

I personally like Harry Hall things - primarily coz they always seem to fit me. I've got a pair of the Caldene sticky bum Belgrade breeches; which are fine until you've been riding in them for about an hour, then by jiminy the seam on the inside of the crutch makes itself evident and you're main mission then becomes getting back to the yard PDQ to rip the damn things off! Definitely painful - ouch!

If you're into casual riding, Harry Hall used to do (dunno if they do now tho') a "casual riding trouser/jean" called "Edmonton" - they're superb for riding and you can wear them for hours without any discomfort. They look like ordinary jeans but have pads on the knees for riding. You can wear them with chaps or without (I found the leathers pinched without chaps tho'). These natty little jeans are fine also for wearing to the shops, casual wear, in the yard, and you can then just hop on your horse and have a nice comfy ride. Ideal! I got mine at Mole Valley.

Unitys by Equetech. Come up high enough so I don't show too much when I trot and they're stretchy. I have them in the grey check and can't bring myself to wear any others now!
