Any clues? I want something really really tasty to help bribe my horse! Doesn't matter how unhealthy and full of sugar it is, I want something irresistible! (Like haribo sweets, in horse form!)

Mine doesn't like mints, has never seen a lickit but will do anything for a slice of carrot and loves Hilton Herballs as do all the horses on my yard, they are fairly strong smelling and have not known a horse refuse them.

Lickit make a bar that you snap in to small squares

My boy gets a handful of pony nuts and a single square of the lickit bar in a treat ball and the ball gets walloped everywhere till he finds that square!

licorice my horses almost take my hands off for them, I use the twists you can buy and its good for their breathing too.

Mine all go mad for Baileys Fibre Plus Nuggets - even my fussy mare! They don't smell of anything special but for some reason, mine all think they are treats. 20kg bag for around a tenner, worth a try!

Louis is partial to a mocha and a mince pie! :)
Squeezy buns - no idea what is in them, full of sugar and cereals probably but they are a firm favourite! come in little individual packets they are so sticky

If I start a list of what mine like, it would go on on for ages!
If you really are not too fussed about how bad they might be, try biscuits, shortbread, gingernuts, custard creams, most Uncle Jimmy's treats, and so many many horse treats out there.

A nice juicy pear for my boy (much nicer than an apple).

Other unintended treats have included a bowl of Alpen, including milk, the farrier's coffee, pineapple rings, apple pie and custard (basically anything with sugar in it!).

There was a study done on horses flavour preferences (can't remember who by) that had banana and cherry right at the top (beat carrot and mint).

I'm gonna be the boring one and suggest Dengie Alfalfa Pellets... This is what I feed my horse (amongst a few other things, all soaked together) but when I give a handful of it dry to him, he stands there for probably five minutes, licking my hands with dopey eyes, haha!

Dr D's tasty treats - mine go absolutely mad for them and they are low sugar, natural ingredients etc and they even do ones suitable for horses with ulcers. I subscribe so I get sent 6 tubes every months 😊

This ^^^

I've yet to find a horse that doesn't go mad for these. The mint ones smell so good I'm tempted to try them myself 😳

Just orderd some of the Dr D's treats. We had a trial pack which my mare loved and then I forgot all about them till now! Thanks Spoiled Cob. My mare doesnt "get" polos and I wouldnt want her to have anything sugary anyway. So these fenugreek ones for horses with ulcers are perfect!

Uncle Jimmy's squeezy buns or stud muffins both very similar terribly unhealthy rammed full of molasses. They are Pie's ultimate favourite treats, he starts drooling if I ask him if he wants a muffin - he loves them so much he's learned the word!

Fatty favourite treat is bananas, he will do anything for them! Pretty handy for trick training. Prince loves apples and Apollo loves his mango. They all adore carrots but they are only for special occasions lol. I recently bought a folder block that you soak in the cutest little hay net I have ever seen and they loved that. Bit expensive for what they are though but the net is fantastic. I have been using it to make my own treats by stuffing it with plain chaff and mixed herbs, grass and weeds out my garden. I put a liquorice stick and fresh mint in yesterdays and honestly thought fatty was going to bring wall down with his enthusiasm!

I got mine from your horse live and luckily remembered to look up the name on the back. They call for them hence why I signed up, now I have loads lol

Chocolate covered kendal mint cake, banana, terry's chocolate orange, kit kat, malted milk biscuits. Just a few of the things that have been "stolen" from hands over the years!
