Recommendations for Gloucestershire...

Well, have just bought my first horse (yay) so just after some recommendations. We have feet sorted currently as we have a barefoot trimmer.

He's going to need his teeth done in the new few months, so does anyone know a good EDT that covers Gloucestershire and what sort of prices are we talking?

I'd also like to get his back done too but what on earth do I get done to it and who do I get to do it? Chiro, Physio, Bowen??? Prices??

Any local recommendations you might have are greatly appreciated!

I use Cat Dartnall for horse massage, she is an absolute angel, but she is based in Kidlington, Oxon, so depends where you are in Gloucestershire. Gloria Leverett does my McTimoney work, again tho, she is Oxon - actually if you tell me where you are maybe I can give better recommendations LOL!
 
Half way between Cheltenham and Bourton on the Water, does that help?

Am not sure Cat will do that area but worth a try if you want her number.

Look like everything else is waiting until next month, he needs his Vacs done this month.

Who better/cheaper, Peasebrook or Bourton????
 
My horse is near Winchombe and I have always used Peasebrook. I find them very good, they also did Av's teeth last time they came to do vacs. For Av's back I use Sam Smith who is based Hartpury way (I think) but is happy to come out all over the area :-)
 
I use Mike Daly from Woodlands Vets - they're based in Cheltenham and cover a large area. He does their teeth too

Sadly my back person has bu**ered off to have a baby and doesn't do backs anymore

Mike Daly is my vet too.

I use Julie Ellis for teeth, 01531 822965 / 07753 749011. She charged £28 when she did my horse last October. Had a vet from Peasbrook to do my horse's teeth a few years ago, he took one look at my horse and asked when he was last doped!

I have used Emma Fretwell (chiro) and she did a fab job on my horse. She's from Evesham tel 07799 692722.

I would recommend Hilary Snow for backs (Mc Tim and massage), she is utterly fantastic and is also excellent at dealing with my slightly nervous self harming mare! Just can't recommend her enough. Pm for her number as it's her mob so I don't want to stick it on a board!
I have used peasbrook for teeth, wouldn't recommend I'm afraid. David Regan is really fab for teeth but you will struggle to get him out for just the one - if you can get your yard together then you have a much better chance! Did the horses on our yard, and the ones who were normally sedated were done in a lovely calm fashion with no sedation needed. I'm trying to find a new edt as most on my yard don't have one out v often so shall watch this thread with interest! Currentlly use Peasbrook for vets though, can't say I think they are very good I'm afraid, their prices are expensive and they will charge you for every tiny little thing (a short chat about your horse settling in while the horses teeth are being rasped for example!). But, they are close to us so I stick with them as I think in an emergency at least they would be out faster.

Well, had an emergency this evening as his vacs ran out today NOT next week... had registered with Peasebrook but they couldn't get a vet out any earlier.

Bourton did it even though I'm not registered, the vet was lovely (despite Henry being a b*gger coming in from the field) she gave him a pat and a rub and he nuzzled her as she jabbed him.

Might have to change vets me think (before I've even started!)
