Recommendations for hat cams

Hi all ,

What riding cameras do you use and recommend ? I have been researching for a while but get stuck …..

Would like one that has 2 hour plus recording time , fairly easy to use and waterproof

Techalogic DC2 and I use the Viidure app on my iPhone for it.

Just a note that the hat bands to attach it work better with the hard shell of a hat, and might ping off when worn over a skull cap cover when trotting up a steep hill…

I did go for the technologica DC1, yet to use it , but I like how light it is

I have the techalogic DC1 too. Getting the hi vis hatband with it is well worth it as it helps alert drivers that you have it and I've found it a great deterrent, you can see people go to be an idiot, clock the camera and think better of it.

I had a Techalogic DC1. Actually found it quite hard to set the thing up; you have to manually press a button so-many times, which my butter-fingers really struggled with. That said, you can actually talk to a "person" on their helpline, which was good, but even so I still found the manual aspect difficult.

I actually managed to snap a motorist on their mobile phone; but when I submitted this evidence to the police the reply I got back was that the "footage wasn't of evidential standard". I was very disappointed in this fact! as I had thought the Techalogic was the bees-knees as far as providing good evidence was concerned.

You have to connect the device to another App on your mobile phone; I actually found this very fiddly and made everything very complicated. So in the end I offered my DC-1 for sale, it was just too darn techie for an old fuddle like me tbh!

Got a Chilli one now. Very low-tech, cheap & cheerful. Haven't submitted any evidence on it so can't tell you whether the police would accept it or not.

My OH got me an Insta 360, it is amazing quality footage, but too heavy to wear on my head, I have worn it on my chest sometimes. He uses is on his lambretta so not totally useless
Edited to add, the units are getting smaller all the time so might be better for hat wearing now

If I were to change mine, I’d get one that you can wear centrally on your head. The ones that go on the side can be heavy and uncomfortable

Techalogic DC1 or DC2. I use my techalogic DC1 each day when hacking out. It is a front rear camera filming front and rear at the same time.

I have the DC1, if you don't have the resolution on max then you can easily film 2 hour rides! I've had mine for almost 2 years, and still good as new!
