Hi, im looking for a reliable company to make a necklace out of tail hair from my mums mare she lost a couple of weeks ago. I thought it would be a nice birthday pressie.

Can anyone recommend a company as il be sending most/all of the tail hair she took from her and id hate for some dodgy company to take it and not do the work!

Thanks

Depends on what quality/style of thing and price bracket you are looking at really. There are a few Ive been looking at and Ive not seen any bad reviews for (so far) but theyre in various price ranges.

Thanks, Ive had a look at their website, I prefer the hair inside a pendant like they have, especially as il have to take a little bit of what we have without my mum seeing it missing!
They are a good price too, ive emailed them to see if they can do me a heart shaped engraved pendant.
Thanks

Sorry, stupid iPhone, dangli things even! Iv not actually seen anything but the pictures look lovely and the amount of hair you need can vary, so good if the horses tail isn't really thick/ long.

Can't recommend Mick at Spangle enough. Excellent communication throughout and I'm totally delighted with my pendant. I only sent a small amount of hair away and he returned most of it with the pendant. Mine contains some hair I took from my boy's saddlecloth which can only be see if you look very closely, as well as the darker hair from his tail. It is just wonderful x

I've had pricings from Mick and will be ordering some hopefully this weekend :) Someone posted their jewellery photos a little while back, looked really nice :)

You bad people!! :p

I've now enquired about it. I have enquired about a bracelet and pendant from Mick though.

I've looked at other websites (VERY pricey) for rings as I've decided and OH agreed that my wedding ring will have horse hair in it :D:D

Been thinking about having something made from the hair we took from our pony before he was put to sleep on Sunday. These look gorgeous, I'm going to look at having 1 each for me and my daughter. I wonder if he would do a little one for my daughter as she is small?

tail end jewellery had a bracelet made out of hair, chain a bit light but the actual hair bit is very clever and such a nice memory to have

I have just had a bracelet made by Horsehair Bracelets from my horses tail hair and it is beautiful ....they make necklaces too. They were so helpful and although they do designs as per their web site they will make special jewellery as well. Try them www.horsehairbracelets.co.uk

I got a bracelet made by www.horsehairbracelets from my old hunters tail..... it gives me something of him with me all the time and looks great. I think they make necklaces too. They are very helpfull.
Hope your mum is Ok ...it takes a long time to come to terms with losing an old friend.

Are they, I wondered about the chain. I asked for a pic on a person not the black background they had to the pics, so I could judge how thick they were but they wouldnt. Shame as they are one of the nicest designs Ive seen.

Hamish and Ozzie seem popular, have you looked at those OP?

I seem to like the expensive ones :p but I dont want base metals for the fixings.
