I'm about to invest in a couple of winter turnouts. Have already struggled with lightweight rugs not drying over the past month with the torrential rain we've had. Could I have any recommendations for rugs that dry fast and are good to go the next day?

Thanks in advance.

We leave ours on our horses overnight when they are in the stable, they dry quicker on the horse from experience. Can’t say I’ve ever come across any that are marketed as quick drying?

For this milder weather my waterproof fly rug has been great totally waterproof and doesn't get heavy and wet like turnout rugs.

I agree leave on horse to dry with normal ones.

if mine come in I leave the turnouts on they dry much quicker on the horse failing that if I do take them off I Just leave them over the stable doors to dry I've got mainly shires and weatherbeeta all dry fairly quickly.

If I'm really desperate to dry off rugs they come indoors next to the Aga 😆

My rhino and rambos definitely dry quicker than other brands.

I personally don’t like leaving wet rugs on horses to dry them. I just think it must be so uncomfortable standing around in dripping rugs and it always feels good getting them whipped off. I usually have another rug I can use if need be, even if it’s a cheap one.

I always take off as want to check for rubs and also reset them. I use liners for mine much easier to take the top layer off and replace.

As long as the rug hasn't leaked I leave them on as they dry out much quicker than taking them off and leaving them hanging to dry.

I bought the Horseware Dry Liner last year and love it. I also use it as a breathable layer on the cold and rainy days because it says that it has a 50g weight.

Unfortunately soon after I got it last year, my horse had just begun his soft tissue rehab therefore he was not getting hot and sweaty before being chucked out, so this is my first season really using it. But I am pleased with it so far!
