Recommendations for Supply of Combination Stable or Shelters with Feed Room ON METAL SKIDS Oxfordshire

Hi Great Minds of H&H

I will be purchasing some "structures" for my herd to go in another field that we have come April/May this year.

I need a shelter, and or stable and feed room but must be mobile. I have done some research and can see a lot supply only wooden skids which won't serve the purpose very long of moving them if required.

I can also see some manufacturers will supply metal skids at 36 feet long....is it actually really possible to move this with a tractor without screwing up the structure?

Current possible favourite is Redmire as they actually seem to supply decent galvanised skids and a friend has had her stable from them on skids 30 years and still going strong.

Does any one have any recommendations for other suppliers? There seem to be a lot of suppliers trying to make a living doing decent combination structures which will move and stay in shape? tried and tested ideally!

Frome were great and I still have a combo shelter x 2 stables at 36ft from them 10 years ago, but no way in the world on wooden skids would I be able to move this without it falling apart, which is fine for where it is situated but not where i want to put a new one!

Many thanks in advance! Its a lot of money to spend so it has to be fit for purpose.

Fallen Oak did us a customised shorter one, on galvanised skids ( altho I think most of their clients choose wood skids, for price), but their spec for structural framing timbers were thicker than many then being offered.
A high location, plenty of named storms etc since, no issues whatsoever.
 
My heavy duty shelter on steel skids is by Chart but they only deliver on v big lorries because of the weight. That one can be dragged by tractor.
 
I was advised to go to a maximum of 24ft for towing with a car, anything bigger then you are likely to need a tractor. We’ve towed a 24ft with a 4x4 on hard ground ok. I can highly recommend Stables Direct, we’ve had three stable blocks off them over the years (last block installed 2024), two blocks were mobile and on very well made metal skids, with good eyes at either end to enable easy towing. They deliver and install over the UK (last time we used the install service for a 36ft block and they were excellent (we built the previous ones from the kits they supplied).

My last 36ft block arrived on a big flatbed trailer towed by a big pickup. Previous ones arrived on flat bed 3.5 tonne trucks.
 
I have no idea if they will trek to you op, but I'm very happy to recommend Ascot Timber Buildings.
They are brilliant to deal with.
My portable shelter is 14 years old now and still looks good and moves easily when hitched up to tractor.

I went back to them for that shelter as my permanent stables are by them too, one block of 3 from 1986, the other block of 2 and hay barn from 1996, plus a fixed shelter from 2010 and the ancient shelter from 1979 (though this was from Eagle Buildings but essentially the same company in previous form)
 
Thanks all, have gone for Chart!!! eeek so expensive but so totally worth it for them to have somewhere out of the elements in the other field!

My Chart one (here when I bought the place) was the only one upright after storms in 2022. It's incredibly solid.
