I've just bought an old-style Ifor 401 (mare and foal) and have been thinking that cross tying with two trailer ties would probably be the safest way to go. Having previously been hit in the face myself with the end of a bungee that released under strain, I don't want anything with a bungee element! Webbing only, ideally with a snap clip one end and a safety clip the other. I know people have differing opinions on this but I would probably put the safety clip on the trailer end, rather than onto the horse.

Ourr local tack shop has these Roma ones (https://www.millbryhill.co.uk/equestrian-c4/roma-brights-trailer-tie-p17752) which are very smart but only 50cm long, so I can't see that they'd be long enough?

Can anyone recommend some loger ones? Or do you attach to a length of string? I'm a bit clueless...

I use the lyndas horsewear ones from ebay. Webbing with a clip one end, panic snap the other and adsjutable slide buckle in the middle. We clip the panic snap to the headcollar and the trigger clip to twine on the trailer ring.

All ordered :) Thanks very much. It's always nice to know someone is successfully using the product, I'm a bit wary of ordering non-branded items off eBay unless I know they've worked for someone else.
