If your waiting til camp, then go and order some premier equine XC boots. got a full set and the neoprene bell boots- I feel my horse is armour plated and Ive still got money in the bank haha! If I had the money I would get the eskadron ones, but I dont

. But the PE ones look like theyre worth alot more too!

Oh yea, abit vague sorry! Um I got the air cooled ones (£20) but then they went into the sale grr! theyve made a new range of boots...The ones with a tendon protector and a cannon bone protector behind, and with little air vents.

Theres 3 diff types! I didnt realise! Air cooled, extreme or ultimate. Just not the sports boots as they dont have hard protection and all that velcro is irritating!

Professional Cchoice over reach (ballistic) boots are fantastic or Equilibrium now to a very similar pair for only £20 which have the block behind the foot to stop them spinning - would highly recommend. Prolite boots are fantastic or New Equine Wear for XC.

Hi, I use the Thorowgood boots front and behind. They're very robust, give good protection and mould well to the horse's legs and I've never known them slip. Also they are MUCH cheaper than brands such as New Equine Wear, Prolite etc.

As for overreach boots I don't use them as I think they are a liability, but if your really need them I'd go for the neoprene kind...

I love my N.E.W Lightweight XC Boots. They're brilliant. Ive used them regularily for XC's for a year now and they still look brand new. They wash extremely well, dont rub (even my boys sensitive legs), dont slip, are very sturdy yet are very lightweight.

Over-reach boots, I just use usual rubber ones (with velcro closure). Ive never found any other types (like neoprene ones etc.) which fit well or securely enough.

Recommend the ones with cannon guards behind - and the ones with the Kevlar tendon guards in front. I not sure which way round they go but they are the Extreme and Ultimate boots.
Great value!

i use prolite boots-great protection and lightweight-as for ovb i use the petal ones, i love the sound they make(counting strides is great!) and they dont turn inside out, and doesnt matter if they spin round, plus you can get them in all sorts of colours!!!

I go for Prolite all round for XC plus Eskadron overreach although think Professional Choice look very good too, though think they are quite pricey.

I like Woof Wear ultimate boots front and hind-very strong, had mine for a year and well used and velcro still as good as new- They have three straps to fasten, then one strap which comes down to lock-never had them slip with me.
I have also collected over the years-Prolite boots which I am using currently-expensive but very good-non-slip etc.
N.E.W-not so keen on, they don't wash well (mine were getting washed once a week after competing) and tend to crinkle which makes them difficult to put on.
Westropp are a good everyday boot as cheap and sturdy.
I am not a fan of over-reach as to be honest no material is going to protect from a real over-reach injury, however do wear them on my TB as typically the one time I didn't and went xs schooling he nicked himself slightly where a over-reach boot would have protected him. It flared up and he was off work for a few days.
On my ID/TB, he wears nothing as very careful and as I said before, heard too many stories about horses tripping up over over-reach boots so i tend to leave off.
