So since one of my horses is out for a looooooong time with a suspensory, i bought another horse, a 16.1 6yo hannoverian. Although he is 6 he is very very green and his previous owner found herself overhorsed as he was a bit sharp and nappy but nothing drastic. but scared her so whenever he napped she would just go back home and by the end didnt really ride him. Now ive had him about 3 and a half weeks now, he tried it on a bit napping the first day but then was good as gold for the first week, 2nd week tok me 45 minutes to leave the yard with much rearing spinning and napping but by the end of that week we were walking straight out of the yard. Now a few days later we were out for a hack and as we turned back onto the road for home there was a horse in front of us and he just lost the plot and ditched me on the road and galloped off home. Was a very decent tantrum, i havent been ditched by a horse on the flat like that for over 4 years and ive ridden some difficult ones over that time. Then had a flat lesson on him n fri and we spent much too long on his hind legs for my liking. Now he's scared me by ditching me like he did and so I'm not really feeling up to having the big battles he needs to get through this, its like now he's realised hes not getting rid of me that easily he's upped the ante and although i can ride through it its extremely unpleasant so what i am wanting is to find an experienced (and preferably fearless and slightly mad
) pro who will ride him for a few weeks to try and get this nasty nappy streak gone so i really need recommendations of anyone suitable in cambridgeshire please!! any suggestions welcome!!!
