Just wondering which ‘broad spectrum’ vitamin and mineral supplement people recommend. My boy is a very good doer, even at this time of year so doesn’t need much hard feed. I feed Pure Feeds which is a complete feed, but he doesn’t generally need the recommended daily amount. I would like to add a supplement to ensure he’s getting all the vitamins and minerals he needs now and also feed it over spring/early summer when he doesn’t need any hard feed, so pellet form would be good. Equimins Tip Top looks good, anyone used it and what did you think? Any other recommendations gratefully received as well though.

Equimins advance complete is what I use. I swapped over from progressive earth and Im really pleased with it. Its definitely the best spec at a reasonable price that I can find. Theres a noticeble difference in my mares feet on it.

As above, Equimins advance complete is a good start, feed at the recommended dose but save yourself money by getting rid of the pure feed. Mix into something cheap, cheerful and natural like a small amount of soaked grass nuts or speedibeet (I like pink mash) add some salt.

Pure feeds have a balancer in (not sure if it in all of their feeds) and are fed at low rate, I would check with them if yours is having enough of the feed to cover the daily vit and min requirements before adding something. I found them very helpful when I contacted them previously. If you do need to add anything I've used Equivite in the past was recommended by my vet.

I use Equivita from equi natural. My farrier has commented how good my mares feet are looking

Can you tell me if salt is added with basic equivita, as their website only shows ingredients for this mineral mix adding up to 40g of an 80g dose, so im wondering what the other 40g is?

It doesn't have any salt added. I give salt water next to bucket of plain water.
