Hi

We are taking another trip to Scotland and would appreciate any recommendations for riding on the beach, trials or a dressage lesson incorporating high end movements (I do teach dressage so not just wanting a go as such :pwould love to experience and learn more grand prix movements).

I am looking around fife coastal route North sea may not make Aberdeen as only have about 10 days. Any ideas would be great or any places to stop along the way, we are travelling probably via Edinburgh over Forth Bridge and over the River Tay, Dundee probably up to Arbroath cliffs. No exact timetable but 23rd December onwards probably. We will be travelling in our horsebox so probably will not do really wee roads, although we will have bikes. :)

WIll you have horses, or are you looking to hire?

Tentsmuir beach is where I always rode when younger - miles of beach and forestry between St. Andrews and Dundee. They've changed the parking recently, so you'd need to check where best to park, though parking at the Tayport end would still be relatively easy.

If you're not taking horses then I think there is still a yard at Lunan Bay (Arbroath/Dundee) that does beach rides.

ETA: Sorry I've just noticed you are not taking your horses. Sadly there is no riding school at Lunan Bay, it shut down a while ago. The girl who ran it now has a riding school about 15mins away and I am sure she still does beach rides. Her name is Haylie Lawson https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057254959340

Another vote for Tentsmuir and Lunan Bay, both beautiful beaches for riding on.
Have a look at Netherton Equestrian near Bridge of Earn, they have quite a full schedule for lessons and training clinics.

That's a shame - I was there a couple of months ago and drove past the yard. It looked operational so I'm guessing it must just be liveries now?
