Looking for someone who would ideally travel to me but will travel myself.

Dressage and jumping.... have lived here the majority of my life yet can't seem to find anyone half decent!
Horses are just outside of Usk, but in an accessable area from all parts - chepstow, caldicot, monmouth, newport, cardiff, glamorgan areas, abergavenny etc etc Id travel to Bristol and Glos areas but obviously the closer the better.

Ta in advance !

When I lived at home (Vale of Glam -5 yrs ago) I had training from Ros Morgan (nee Bevan), she's quite scary but seemed to get good results from her clients!! Her sister also teaches and is based in Abergavenny I think. Both are BSJA / BE Accredited.
There's also Jane Ford in Bridgend who does quite good flat training and not sure if Anthony Perkins is still around?
Nick Coles is in Cardiff at Alps court.
May be worth PMing Little_Pink_Piggies as she's based in S Wales and is prob more up to date than me!!!

When I lived near Chepstow I had lessons with Rachel Struel & I would strongly recommend her to anyone. She's a BD registered trainer who also used to event so she gives good flatwork & jumping lessons. She'll travel or you can go to her at Undy nr Caldicot where there's a 60x40 school.

I found her a fantastic teacher, I learned so much from my lessons wth her & my biggest regret about moving is that I'm now too far away to have lessons with her.

Her number is 07507639335.

Thanks all.
Nari, I did have a few lessons with Rachel a couple of seasons ago and although she was helpful I never came away thinking I couldnt wait for the next. However, thinking about it I might give her another try as riding a different horse at the moment and she is so close it'd be silly not to try again. Thanks for the reminder!

Have you tried Jan Evans, Paul Ingram or Ann Peate? They are all very good. I would echo you about Rachel Struel. I didn't click with her at all but get on well with Jan and Paul.

Edited to say I've not had a lesson with Ann Peate but lots of my friends have and like her way of teaching. She's BE qualified.

A second vote for Ros Morgan. Very scarey but very very good. You do not dare say no! I've jumped things i wouldn't have thought possible. And done some very amazing things with leg yeild.

I don't live in Wales though - she comes over to Guernsey to train aswell.

Thanks Cheeky Girl...have tried Paul before but kinda got the same feeling as I did with Rachel. Not saying they're bad trainers but if you come away from one session feeling like it was almost a waste of money its quite difficult to change that impression of them.

Ive not heard of Ann Peate either. Where is she based ? More for dressage or jumping ?

Ann Peate is fantastic , more swayed towards Dressage I believe ( but I think she used/does event [not sure though
)
She was teaching at Cardiff RS and teaching at my local PC so I think she is based in VOG

Ann BE events at the moment. I'd pm Coedcae as she has regular lessons off her. Other person who is in the area and people who've had lessons with really enjoy is Kate Dixon
