I use Greg Wood, he's firm but very patient. I've never yet had to have one sedated when he's done them. He allowes them to move around until they realise that he is not going to go away but at the same time does not force them. He's good friends with Richard Maxwell.
Just to add my vote too - Martin Walls. I am another one who won't let anyone else near my horse's teeth. In fact, nor will she (she stands rock solid for Martin but refuses to let mummy clean her teeth
Martin Walls has done Marius' teeth for the last four years, and I would never have anyone else! Previously, the vet sedated Marius when he came to do his teeth, without giving him a chance to settle and co-operate; Martin quickly gained his trust and does his teeth with no headcollar, gag or restraint of any kind. And Marius isn't an 'easy' horse, by any means! I just watch in wonder!!
BTW - I asked Martin if he minded me putting the photos of him on the Net and he gave his permission
Martin is such a dude - we had a previously difficult horse who had been sedated to the point she was almost dead and had the most awful teeth. Martin just listened to her and took his time; the first time she was lightly sedated and after that she wasn't. It was watching him with her that made me decide never to bother using anyone else - he is so in-tune with the horses!
Needs a haircut though
Hi everyone, just a little note to say thank you for your reommendations and help! Martin managed to come out to me today and he was fab with mav, I told him people from here recommended him, and he was very grateful and said thank you to all! He sounded a bit suprised about how popular he was!
