I'm looking at buying a horse after a few years break and wondered if any of you could recommend any livery yards in the Gloucestershire area. It would be on a DIY basis.
You may find some advertising in Haven Animal Feeds at Cam. There is Tumpy Green Equestrian centre near to them - they claim to have liveries (disclaimer - I know nothing about it!)
Or Buckover? http://www.buckoverequestrian.co.uk/ Bit further but it looked very nice when I went for a rally there. I think you're near Rockhampton as well?
Don't go for summerhouse! Fab as a venue, but they sacrificed a lot of grazing to build the arenas, so turnout is a luxury there.
Mine is too far away from you I think... let me know if you'd be interested to find out about us anyway!
Roland Fernios isn't that far away from Quedgeley, not sure if it's that cheap though, don't know a great deal about it other than second -hand praise singing by a fellow livery at a different yard!
Where do you work Half-Halt? I am also currently sat in an office a stone's throw from Summerhouse!
Very!
How do you cope in winter with work and horses?!
I gave up when i started this full time job because i didn't think i'd have enough time - i kept mine at a family yard with no facilities, just hacking - hence now looking at yards!
Park Corner between Stroud and Cirencester is fab', it's where I keep my horse!
DIY £30/ week all year around included a stable, hay, straw, field (with other horses)+ use of the tackroom if needed.
Fantastic hacking as 1minute ride away from Cirencester Park.
They are 6 horses there at present and very nice people!
