I am just getting back into riding, having had horses as a teenager but not having ridden much in the last few years.

Wondering if anyone has recommendations for riding schools near Glasgow. Particularly keen to find one that actually does lessons for adults on the weekend.

Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't recommend Roundknowe or Tannoch.

Roundknowe was where I had my first lessons and I was far from impressed and very quickly left. Unfortunately the place where I learned has now shut down :(

Tannoch - it depends on the horse and the instructor. I spent a lesson being told to saw on a young horses mouth to get it into an outline which I wasn't really comfortable with.

It's not in Glasgow but I can highly recommend Houston Farm near Broxburn.

I have jumping lessons on my horse with one of their instructors Fiona but they also run a riding school and from what I've seen it's very well run and the yard is spotless.

I also rode for a while at Ayr equestrian - it was again not to bad, depended on what instructor you got and if I remember correctly a bit more expensive than some other places.

I've had terrible experiences with Tannoch as well I heard they were shut with stragles recently as well, not sure if they have reopened again. Didn't have a great experience at Easterton either.

Ingliston is meant to be good but i've only been there for comps. There's also Horse Haven in Moodiesburn who do adult lessons.
