So I have a strong 13.2 Irish sports horse, just wondering what other people would recommend to use on her! She is a wee star in the arena and hacking can ride her in a snaffle, as soon as I start jumping her or ride her in the field she goes into 6th gear she just gets so excited I love her like this I just want more breaks, got everything checked teeth etc and she's fine it's just purely because she gets excited! I was riding her in a snaffle but did not work obviously so tried her in a 3 ring gag but felt was far to much for her as when jumping she would put her head in the air then a jump would appear in front of her, so took it out immediately as I feel I have a good wee pony and don't want to ruin her confidence. I have then tried a Dr Bristol as recommended but I don't see must difference compared to the snaffle. Only use a nose band or flash, So what would you recommend?

You see a lot of NS Elevators in BS Ponies. Made all the difference when we swapped our ISH SJ'r last year. You'll only need a grackle is she crosses her jaw - otherwise it is pointless.

Perhaps try a Kimblewick, they are a very useful bit and always used to be a traditional next step option for a strong pony years back before more and more different bits came on the market

Kimblewick a are great, I use a slotted kimblewick when hacking my horse/competitions. She schools/jumps great in her lozenge snaffle and isn't strong at all but when were out I need something stronger. I use a slotted kimblewick, it's good as you have to option of the top or bottom slot.
