Hi - my boy had his injections at the beginning of July for CJA. I've had him out in a small sectioned paddock (he can walk around but not get into a trot for anything other than a few paces) and in at night since having the injections and am going to start to ride him tomorrow for 10 mins per day increasing gradually. My vet has said that after a few weeks walkjng I can start to introduce some trotting in a straight line but not on a circle and defo not on the road, only on soft ground but thats as far as I've got in terms of how to manage him back into work.

My aim (as long as everything is ok re CJA) is to get him back into light work - schooling once a week and hacking 2 - 3 days for 45 - 60 mins but not sure how to get there. Also, I'd love for him to go back out at night but not sure when I can let him back with the other horses - they are never mad but do enjoy the odd canter (who wouldn't!!)

Anyway - any advice would be gratefully received...

Hi
My boy had steroid injection into his coffin joint (only had one as it was so effective may do the other 2 as and when he needs them) his also had adequan injections last one was sunday,
his been out with my other horses the whole time barr the 1st night he had the steriod injection- his also got cja and navicular,

It's sods law his now currently sound on his front and lame behind,
Currently doing a bute trial and his to start work saturday with 10 days on bute then totally coming off it and continue riding if it a case of he needs bute to be sound to be ridden I think i'm just going to retire him as I feel uncomfortable riding him on bute permenently his 21 and 17.2 so is good for an old man,

Not sure how old your boy is or circumstances but I would defently have a chat with your vet.
