My horse did a mild check ligament injury back in early Nov, no lameness just a little swelling for around 48 hours and that's been it really.

He had 6 weeks box rest with walking out in hand, I've been slowly coming back into work and is now doing lots of trotting and have had a couple of little canter. In the mean time he's been hooning around the field galloping and bucking (not ideal I know!) but it has never come up or anything.

I'm getting tempted to just ride him as I normally would (without the hunting/XC) but am worried about blowing it!!

What do you think?

I think if he is galloping around the field like a mad thing with no response from the leg, then normal hacking and schooling will do him no harm and you a lot of good :)

Yeah - would probably be the most sensible thing to do!! Didn't feel like the vet I got seemed to know what he was doing.. but another nice vet came to stitch his head up the other day (don't ask!!) and she seemed to know all about it so I was wondering if I'd be able to ask her to come and scan it?? but how would that work with comparison to original scans?? Same practice.. don't want to piss off original guy but I wasn't convinced by his diagnosis in the first place!

How is your horse getting on OP?
My horse has done his check ligament... he has just started his 2nd week box rest then will be getting a rescan with a view to start walking again
