Well I am recently out of the hospital after spending a week on life support then a furthur week in Critical Care after the flu!!! I am usually fit, healthy and busy, but this knocked me on my butt in under twelve hours, very scary!
Still, I was lucky and survived it, and get to see my kids grow up. Trouble is I am sitting here very weak and feeling slightly dis connected and beginning to wonder if I am ever going to be well enough to go back to the yard. Fortunately I have a fantastic OH who not only coped with what was going on with me, but the four kids and the five horses too. He really is amazing!!!
So has anyone been in a similar situation and have any advice for a speedy return to the saddle? (my OH bought me a new saddle for xmas too) It is so frustrating being so useless at present!

Give yourself a break and don't rush. Your body will let you know when it's ready to get busy! It's frustrating but you need time out- be a good poorly person!!!

I had the flu in the summer, took me 8 weeks from the first day I felt sick till I felt able to ride...

Then the next day I put my back out...

So, it'll probably take a while, and when you do feel better, take things slowly...

I make such a bad poorly person tho! I hate having to ask for help, and not being able to get things for myself. The sun is shining here and I just wish I could be at the yard giving everyone a good groom at least. I guess I am just frustrated not having any idea it is likely to be before I feel more capable.
