red cell. what do people think

Can be useful if your horse is a bit low/anaemic/been ill.

We use it to build poorly conditioned horses up, and the racehorses used to have it too.

she is a cob in good condition, but ive heard it can help with horses prone to tying up and she does

I've not heard that. We have used it for horses that are anaemic (having had blood test) and also those that have had prolomged antibiotic treatment for wounds etc.

well i was hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone as i cant feed high sugar and starch. so this would hopefully be a safe supplement to boost her energy

I used it years ago but wont do anymore because that iron stops copper uptake and this has been implicated in grass sickness suceptability.

Poglet..., have just read your other post as well.
This is NOT going to make your horse jump higher or give her more momentum. The only thing that will improve that is her fitness and your riding. Its up to you to create momentum and impulsion.

i kno it wont do those things and as i have told everyone else she is ridden everyday and is at top fitness. if i was traveling by trailer it would not be an issue, i just wanted to ask wether it was worth giving this a go to give her abit more spark. im sorry if you misunderstood me i obviously kno that these supplements wont turn my mare into a grade A or make her sharper

I feed procell as my boy had low red cell count after a virus on vet advice. I had decided to keep him on it as he is 20 yrs old. A grey lives on the same land and has patches of lack of pigment (can't remember the correct term) and has a copper supplement for it.

My question is, will continuing with the procell affect his uptake of copper?, and what are the repercusions?

Sorry to invade your post.

Jane
