Red Horse Field Paste

It's not very often that I recommend a horse product, but this one deserves it . I've controlled a tendency for one of my horses to split the central sulcus and get a soggy spot in the heel for three years. In one month, Red Horse Field Paste has dried it out completely. And it smells so gorgeous!! . I'm a fan!

I've got no connection to the company and I paid full whack for the product.

Yes agree it's well worth a try. Only needed to do something with one horse but the difference even in one application was amazing.

Red Horse hoof products are the absolute BEST (I don't know them personally either). I have one horse who wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for their Field Paste and Hoof Stuff.

I've tried several of their products and with the exception of hoof stuff in a very very deep sulchus in an extremely high heeled horse (not mine) I have had no success with any of the products. The hoof stuff only worked if the sulchus was deep enough for it to stay in.
I do agree they smell lovely though.

I'm not sure you should be eating it?!

I've only used the sole cleanse and artimud, but can see I'll end up buying this next order too!

Eucalyptus oil. Kills the bacteria.

I know, but other products also have the same ingredients but don't seem to have the same effect, and some products have would a microbiologist would deem likely more powerful ingredients but also don't have the same effect .

SF the hoof stuff is just zinc oxide cream and honey
nom.

Another sole cleanse & field paste fan! My b/f trimmer put me onto them. TB & Shetland are both on the regime & their feet are a lot better for it!

Me neither for basic thrush. I never got hoof paste to stay in. And had limited success with the sole cleanse spray. Both smelt lovely though.

I like hoof stuff for deep holes and arthrimud for big cracks.

the hoof stuff works better for that IME. I usually sole cleanse then pack with the hoof stuff and take it out after a few days.

Deep crack you might be better with hoof stuff or Artimud from Redhorse?

Hoof stuff for sure, don’t particularly rate field paste but the hoof stuff is fab and works well.

I find Hoof Stuff really fiddly. I've used it a few times especially on new ex-racers with sick hooves.

However I love Field Paste and have had fantastic results with it. I would pick thst over every other Red Horse product and I think I've used them all at one time or another ?

I love artimud from ramming into crevices like the central sulcus! Nice and sticky, pack it right in there and there's usually some left in there a week later.

I've filled frogs and holes with FP with no bother. Its done a grand job ?

Hoof stuff is rather fiddly to apply, but that's the point of it, really. Once suitably jammed in, it works its magic til you go to fish it out. I use a roofing nail. HS does need a suitable cavity, though. If the cavity is too open, the HS will fall out. I spray sole cleanse in the cavity first.

Field paste is also messy, but it leaves your hands soft and smelling lovely and fresh after you've eventually managed to rinse it off . I've been told by a barefoot trimmer that field paste works best in damp conditions, but I don't know if that is true.
