Red Patent John Whitaker Bridle

Just look how boring he looks in black...he he :p

perfect:p

Reminds me slightly if red patent prostitute shoes.. but on a horse.

Im in 2 minds, its ok but I wouldn't want it. But then again I love bling so really I can't talk as the browband I've just bought for dressage (if I ever get to a dressage comp ever) would send a lot of you to Cambs to rescue my poor horse! :D

Oh its vile  and he looks so handsome in that second pic with the nice understated bling on the browband. The patent red is yucky, sorry! He is gorgeous so would look good in baler twine mind ;)
I like a nice browband, still trying to find a nice one to suit my cobalob... for now we're happy in a hunter style snaffle bridle

LOL got you guys really hate it don't you :p Shamefully i still LOVE IT :D and just brought him the breastplate to match he he

I got his understated browband from pink equestrian, just one row of blue crystals...have a look on their website :) they have loads

Just WHY?

Reminds me of the painted ones the beach donkeys used to wear when I was a child.
( & this from someone who uses synthetic endurance tack.)

If you'd said for hacking about fair enough but for shows? Don't like -sorry.

Sorry, agree with this, and I have everything red for my horse, and me for XC, but would never do anything other than brown tack.

As for the photo of him in black tack, we used to have everything black for our little dapple as it was so smart on her.

Looks a bit Katie Price to me. Can't believe a yorkshire man put his name to it!

(Sorry - you enjoy it though!)

I HATE black tack. I'd rather patent red than black

Isn't it funny how everyone has different ideas about what is nice/nasty even though we probably all learnt pretty much the same way to start off with? I wonder how much you can tell about a person from what their horse's tack is.

Look at the new grey pony bling that JFTD's thread about bling for a Highland and Lolo's thread searching for a new browband for Reggie made me buy :o http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l601/suziq77ponies/BF2012-RHH-078copy.jpg

Jesstickle is going to come over all funny at the amount of diamante on show

ETA: the bridle is dark havana, not black - for some reason the photo makes it look black, grrr!

Nah, that's ok because it's showing :p Did you not see mine the other day asking if Nitty could get away with purple? :o

And I love her. She is just so, so scrummy. I'm going to come and steal her one night. She'd look lovely in my field with Nitty.

Ah thanks :) and the beautiful Nits could get away with any colour she likes, grey ponies are so easy to dress up. The OP's horse shows that red bridles look good on them too, regardless of whether their human is a fan :D

Please don't steal her, I would be quite bereft and her little brown sister would mind terribly too. I'm sure they would both love to meet Nitty and BH though.

Turns out they have sold out of all the red patent breastplates and wont be back in stock at least aug :( sorry everyone, your just have to wait till then until you can all treat yourselves ha ha :D ;) :p

I love that you love it :D hehe you go girl!!

Not for me and dont think your bridle is the best in terms of width etc to show off your horses head as he is very handsome! You get brownie points for sticking up the photos knowing it would not be to everyone's taste though..

Anyway, end of the day, your horse, you pay the bills, horse doesnt care and it's no one else's business!

Seeing it on the internet and in the shop, i hated it. However seeing it on your horse it doesnt look too bad! Bit too expensive for what it is though methinks:)

Blimey endurance riders have been splashing colours around for decades!

I have a white bridle for my grey, a neon blue for my chestnut, a green martingale & breastplate, green/black podium saddle (which now using on chestnut as excellent fit on her, wish I could afford to get her one in blue;)), can choose between white reins or black/green/white plaited ones.....

You name a colour, someone in endurance has it as their tack colour! My friend has 2 bridles for her black dark yellow (with yellow & green reins) & the dark bay wears flourescent green with matching reins. Another friend uses pink on her grey girl (bridle, reins, breastplate, numnah) & blue on her grey boy.

National enduraance team competes in red/white/blue tack.

Can i just put a double bridle with a flat wide noseband on your horse and take it into the show ring?! Im all for the plain tack with bridles that suit the horses head so its a big NO for me. I think the only horses that can get away with the colours of the universe are endurance and show jumpers although i would still put plain pretty tack on them! I think the only thing i ever add is the odd bit of sheepskin!
