I walked into Millbry Hill to buy some chaps, and a really nice lady pointed me to..............

these !!!! TRUST ME they look worse in real life.

Hubs and I were laughing so hard I nearly wet myself - if I wore those out riding, the cars driven by males would be skidding off the road looking at them:D

I know some of you will like them, but honestly, imho, some things are better left for private moments ;)

Lmao I love these red boots :P We have them stocked to. Its a publicity stunt by Weeatherbeeta to get people takling about their new Dublin - Dare to Be Range. :)

with all the unsold stock, they can flog them to Ann Summers and recoup their losses, lmao - I am sorry, I have never seen anything so URGH in a very long time - I even took a photo to show YO. :D

They also come in jodphur boots as well. My life.

hmmmmm, i love red, my favourite colour, i have seen these in real life, and have tried them on, they are comfy BUT they do look plastic and tacky. I would love some long red riding boots but i think i'll pass on these :D

I did actually think along the lines of "well they could be a bit like hi viz cos you WILL be seen in these" - but then I realised they are soooooooooo fetishist that I think they would actually cause a pile up, so reverse effect to what is required

Honestly, just clocking in them in the shop has been the highlight of my week :p

Love them. Own them. Don't think they look tacky at all and I'm not worried about others' opinions. :)

As an added bonus, they must be the first pair of gaiters I've ever owned that are actually long enough for me.

Just out of interest, why would you consider red patent boots to be different from black patent ones? There are plenty of shiny black dressage boots out there...

I bet you aren't :D it may surprise you that I'm quite traditional and probably a reasonably conservative dresser these days, too. I just loved these and think as the sole "blingy" (or whatever you want to call it) part of an outfit they look good. The only competing I do is in online dressage, where you can wear what you like. So my eventual plan is these with beige breeches, tweed and a red stock. Similar to the outfit worn by the girl who models just the jodhpur boots (without the gaiters), in fact.

I can't say red is my colour but the Dublin have definitely pulled off a great marketing stunt. We are all talking about them, I'm sure if you are in a shop and see them you will check them out and although maybe laughing at the red ones, you might then notice the brown or black ones.

That is what I did anyway and now own a pair of the black zip on boots. They are amazing!! I never thought I would say that about Dublin boots but they are ten times more comfortable than my Ariats!! And a lot cheaper too!!

I would LOVE a pair :D I don't think they would look as out of place on me and Ned...EVERYHING we were is red and black, when we're jumping/schooling.
