Red Spot

Just wondering if anyone knew what this was: Its shows up qiute well and at firdt i thought it was some red paint of a pole he knocked when jumping, but it isn't. There is alos a slightly lighter bit aswell, can see both in pic

Looks like a bruise - probably from knocking the pole when jumping. Sometimes they get a bit lame or pottery if they have bruised their hoof but your bruise looks pretty small.

Its bruising. Lots of horses have these but often they are very difficult to see unless you have a horse with pale coloured feet.

Mum thought that to but i wanted to check just in case. He isn't lame or anyhting with it tho

It could actually be quite old bruising. It may have been a knock much higher up the hoof wall months ago and you are only seeing it now it has grown down a bit.

Not generally anything to worry about.
