Hi guys,
Just wondered whether anyone had any advise on worming.
I have got a 6yo trotter mare which i brought 3 years ago from a traveller. When i first got her i did a 5 day panacur guard followed shortly by a equimax.
I have since then alternated between equest and equest pramox and more recently a eqvalan duo as she is in foal .
I have had two worm egg counts done which where both clear BUT she has got visible red worm in her droppings. my vet has suggested i double dose her with panacur then on the 6th day give an equest once she has foaled, but im just worried that it wont work. Has anyone tried any different treatments which have worked or any herbal supplements ?
Any info greatly appreciated
Many Thanks

I would be inclined to send a sample off to a lab such as Abbey and ask them to do sensitivity/resistance tests. Hopefully by doing this you will know in advance what active worming ingrediant will help shift the burden, you can then select the most appropriate product (just check suitability for a pregnant mare)

That's a bit alarming. Are there definitely red worms in the droppings? How worrying that the worm counts came back negative if that's the case. I think the lady from Westgate comes on here she may be able to help.
