Anyone been to this visitor Centre? i went years ago to the one in Norfolk but am thinking (if we can) of taking oh's daughter there at bank holiday weekend as a trip out for her birthday (shes 5)

so any comments?

We visited the centre a few years ago,it was a lovely place but we just got so upset at the stories behind the horses and ponies! We did sponsor Muffin the mule!

bless him, he was as wide as he was tall, shetland cross donkey!

You can come and visit me! I only live 5 minutes away but haven't been there for a few years now. Like spottybotty says, some of the stories are very sad, but it is a lovely place.

Not sure where you are daisy but The Horse Trust at Princes Rosborough is also worth a visit. Lovely place asnd visitors centre. Little cafe. Plenty to see. They have some of the Amersham ponies but most of their neds are those who have served the country eg retired police horses, army horses, RDA horses, Queens carriage horses, dray horses etc so maybe their stories wouldn't be so dreadful?

well im in Sheffield but my OH lives in North London and its only about 10miles from where he is. Thought if i adopted one of the horses/ponies/donkies for his daughters birthday she could go visit it.
Can you adopt one from The Horses Trust?

i used to adopt Pepper many moons ago then Rocky the shetland.
i dont know if she would understand about the way they are treated or might be best to skirt around that somewhat

Took my two granddaughters to the one in Norfolk last week - they had a lovely time. All the horses and donkeys looked happy and well cared for.

I remember my friend adopted pepper and I adopted Freddie and we used to compare the 'letters' they used to send us at school. I think it is a great place.
